ABOUT US

 ALD. MARTY QUINN

Elected in 2011, Ald. Marty Quinn is a strong champion for the residents of the 13th Ward. Under Marty’s leadership, the 13th Ward is thriving.

Providing high-quality, unwavering constituent services is at the core of Marty’s public service philosophy. He can often be seen personally shoveling snow in Chicago’s winter months. Along with Rep. Guerrero-Cuellar, Marty is a regular fixture on people’s doorsteps, getting to know 13th Ward residents and their families on a personal basis.

Marty is deeply invested in making the 13th Ward a place where people want to move, raise their families and set down roots for the next generation. He has brought millions of dollars in investment to the community by recruiting numerous businesses to Cicero Avenue and throughout the ward, including Culver’s and Lou Malnati’s. Marty is working to close the gap between opportunities for students on the North and South Sides of the city, and brought John Hancock High School, the first selective enrollment school, to the ward in 2014. Marty’s focus on education has resulted in millions of dollars of investment in local school buildings and parks.

Making the 13th Ward a safe and welcoming place to live is a priority for Marty. He believes deeply in the connection between a safe neighborhood and thriving schools and parks. Marty supports our police officers and is fighting to ensure there are enough officers to serve the community. Marty and his staff remove graffiti and clean up shuttered buildings so quickly they rarely can be found in the ward.

Marty is always looking ahead and planning for the future. He has enacted a complete ban of home-sharing services in the 13th Ward to keep the neighborhood safe for those who call it home. Marty is working with residents on numerous projects to improve the community, including developing two dog parks – the first of their kind on the South Side of the city. Because of Marty’s deep commitment to its residents, the 13th Ward is a community on the move.

REP. ANGIE GUERRERO-CUELLAR

Rep. Guerrero-Cuellar seamlessly stepped in to the position of Illinois House Representative of the 22nd District in February 2021. Angie shares Marty’s dedication to top-notch constituent services and has already made a positive name for herself as she meets residents at their doors.

Angie is deeply rooted in the community, raising two daughters in the 13th Ward with her husband, who is a Chicago police officer. Before becoming a state representative, Angie worked for Envision Community Services, building and maintaining community partnerships with stakeholders, community activists, businesses, non-profit organizations and elected officials. Angie also led Envision’s COVID-19 contact tracing efforts in the Latino community to help people better understand the virus and its impact.

In Springfield, Angie’s priorities center around the needs of her constituents. She is focused on creating strong educational opportunities for all children, safe neighborhoods for families to grow and strong protections for our workers.
